How I Enjoyed Deepavali 2007
Just got back from my “activities” yesterday. Nothing much to say. The photos will sum it all up for you.
Deepavali Eve dinner at dad’s mom’s place; big family gathering.
Top row: National Rice Cooker with rice, tauhu sumbat, the chilli “sauce” for the tauhu.
2nd row: Chicken curry, fish curry, mutton perattal, river crab dry sambal, mixed vegetable
3rd row: Cucumber salad, butter prawns, chicken satay, and a different kind of rice for the old people
I forgot to take photos for the food on Deepavali day. Jumped right into the servings like a rabid wolverine.
Then the next day, we went to my mom’s parents’ place in Ipoh. Had nothing much to do there except watch TV, so no pics again. We got back on Sunday afternoon, and by 8pm, I was in Puchong with my uni frens. A small reunion with the 7 of us.
Dewar’s 12 years old Special Reserve Scotch. Kharthik brought chicken “varuval” from Rantau. All this makes a good combination while watching Man United beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0.
Next up, our 2nd bottle, Mr. Walker with his Green Label. Need I say more?
And the grand finale: Martell. By now, we were aledi “ping-pang”…..
‘Nuff Said!!!
