Al Jazeera Interview With S.K. Devamany (M.P. from MIC)

Wow! I think the government is giving the ministers some specific interview “guidelines”, just like tech support officers. Yeah, it’s the usual we a a democratic country, we are a peace loving nation, bla bla bla… But somehow this dude seems to be failing to answer a pivotal question by the interviewer. Hmmmm… Maybe it’s a degenerative disease among the corridors of power… hehehe… I’ll let you guys be the judge…

Bravo Al Jazeera! Bravo!

Two very pertinenent points:-

1. “If Malaysia is a democratic country why are protests not allowed?” He couldn’t answer the question - yes Kavi, he avoided and wiggeld around it! The BN government’s concept of democracy is at odds with the rest of the world. Apparently, their definition of democracy is we let the rakyat vote every 5 years (together with all the phantom voters) - and that’s Malaysian democracy! Democracy is so many more things - it’s freedom of speech, it’s the protection of law, the right to justice, the right to peaceful assembly … it so so very much more. We should stop calling Malaysia a democracy - why don’t we call a spade a spade? - it’s an UMNO (not a BN) dictatorship.

2. Devamany said “the type of people that turned up”. Al Jazeera was right to call him on that. Hoi Devamany! The type of people that turned up was YOUR ppl! Type of ppl indeed! What the hell do you mean TYPE?! We were Indians. We were Malaysians our there! Oh yes, I don’t even like to think about it but in my bones I know that this unprecedented police brutality was because there were “the type of ppl”. Indians are such a minority that they could get away with it - and in this country who cares about the minorities? Go ask the Orang Asli and Kadazans - the true bumiputras.

But I am so heartened by the sheer number of Indians and Malaysians that turned up - makes me proud! We are no longer taking it lying down.

MIC you are yesterday’s news. Move over! HINDRAF is here! I might disagree with some of HINDRAF principles - I wish religion was not to prominent - INDRAF is better. Indians are Chistians and Muslims too. But what makes me support them so much is the self sacrifice and caring for their fellow men. Those lawyers championed the Indian community when our temples were destroyed, when conversion was forced onto some - they are risking so much personally for all the rest of us. HINDRAF form a political party - you have my VOTE!

S.K Devamany don’t know how to speak in al-jazeera… i personally saw the news in al-jazeera with my family when the national malaysian TV did not even show anything… I saw how the police drag some indian people in the streets like in USA… remember that black people insident in the USA… same style… I was so sad… I can, I will help, but how to go K.L when most road are blocked by the police….

MIC, I know ur style… my great grandfather are State MIC Exco member (ADUN), I remember how my father used to say how my great grandfather been kick out of the post because of some of samy’s geng in MIC…. he was only normal pemuda MIC, but come up so quickly….. and push everyone aside…

anyway… S.K Devamany, you better do ur job properly bcoz u are new 1st term MP, a lot of people don’t like it… even in MIC it’s self…

I hope in the next general election, the opp will win more seats in DUN & Parliment… give the opp indian candidate a vote… & we show how we indian in malaysia feels now!!!!

TQ..
