A Simple Insight on Hinduism

WARNING: This post is not intended to preach to anyone, to convert one’s religion, nor to suggest tattooing one’s forehead with idiotic definitions. IT IS A SIMPLE EXPLANATORY ARTICLE. This is a probably the longest article I’ve published, and if you have the attention span of a fruit fly, or the patience of Mike Tyson, kindly do not leave, but go on to read my other shorter posts.

I purposely delayed the posting of this article as I wanted the furore over some religious issues of late to subside. Tattoos, conversion, reversion, and such. I was privileged enough to be surrounded by people of different faiths ever since I was a kid, and it has thought me a considerable lesson in life. I learned a lot from my enviroment. One of my best friend is a Christian, and also my roomate for 4 years. I learned a lot about Christianity from him, and also from other friends as well. My grand-uncle (may his soul rest in Peace) was a Muslim, who was in fact an Imam at a mosque in Klang and also a religious teacher who had ALSO performed the Haj. I’ve worked in a predominantly Chinese populated enviroment, whom mostly are Buddhists. I have friends (and neighbours) who are of the Bahai faith. I even know of some Athiests.

The Backstreet Boys Made Me Feel Suicidal

You wanna know why I wanna kill myself? All because of those BackStreet Boys. Been hearing them for the last few days in Hitz.FM and Fly FM. Even THR Raaga was promoting them. Aaaaarrrrggggghhhhh. This morning, I had a conversation wit Dante on MSN. Here’s what that went on.

A Random Picture Post

I was inspired by Shadow Pimpernel to do a random picture post with random (duh!) pics from my crazy collection. I say “inspired” coz I wanna disguise the fact that I am too blur to post anything else which is coherent to the learned mind. I guess that I just un-disguised the supposedly disguised fact. As I am somewhat an occasional camwhore, I have an inexplicable amount of photos in my D: drive. Almost 1GB. That ridiculous amount should reflect the fact that I take useless snapshots of me and my friends and also have a large collection of photos of Asin, Rachel Weisz and Eva Green (drooool).

My New (Busy) Life Has Started

Moving on to further upgrade my quality of life has been a tiring endeavour. As you’ve probably read about my resignation, lemme tell you about what happened after the episodes of last week. It was a long time plan of mine to do certain things that would ultimately improve my life standard, and as soon as I handed that resignation letter, I knew that I can finally move on to the next step.

Firstly, I managed to find another job. Yeah, only 2 days of unemployment. Noooo, it wasn’t any recommendation or anything of that sort. Just the run-of-the-mill interview session and “You got the job, Mr. Kavilan. When can you start?” kinda thing. Same line of work, but with more responsibilities (AND authority), shorter working hours, and not to forget a 35% increment from my previous salary. Not too shabby. Honestly, I am feeling great. Where do I work now, you ask? Let’s just say, I’m in the hotel business.

Next thing that I did was to restart my personal project which I have put on hold for sometime. Dante, if you’re reading this, rejoice, my dear friend. The work is in the final stages of planning, and after a few more analysis work have been carried out, it’s time to start the ground work. Can’t reveal too much though, coz since this is a project to HELP computer users like you and the litle girl 2 houses away from you, and I wouldn’t want anyone to steal the idea and make money outta it. For this, let’s just say I’m working on a FREE initiative for IT people.

I also have started to re-control my eating habits, which was actually going well last year until Deepavali came and made me grow even more sideways. After my diet is quite stable, then gym sessions would follow suit. Must. Reduce. Weight. Can’t. Fuck. It. Again.

Sadly, these 3 issues have been consuming my time like how a Yamaha 125Z guzzles down petrol. I don’t seem to have much extra time (for now). It’s gonna take a while to really assimilate into my new life. I might not be posting on my blog very often, but I will keep on blog-hopping.

And with regret, I am also sad to see my fellow Malaysians being sprayed with water by the police when they tried giving our PM roses. As I wasn’t there (I do feel bad for not being there to show my support, though I will always support them in mind and soul), I would like not to comment much on it.

Anyways, wish me luck dear frens. Here’s to a good life!

I Have Resigned My Job

With a heavy heart (ironically), I have resigned my current job as a web programmer. Today will be my last day. I put in my letter on Tuesday, and my resignation was approved after some deliberation (and dialogue) with my three bosses. It has been great pleasure working with everyone there, and I went through interesting experiences.

The last 12 months have been quite educational, to say the least. This job was a stepping stone to my future, and I was lucky to have landed it in the first place after 3 months of unemployment after graduation. In the beginning, I had plenty to learn and I am actually pleased to say that I had a few good teachers who helped me learn plenty.

I’m actually just 2 weeks short of my one year anniversary here, and it regrets me that my tenure here had to end in such a way. Yet as all good things must come to an end, so does my time here. Unforseen circumstances had brought me to hand in my resignation letter, and yet my employers were gracious enough to bid me farewell with much well wishing. Not to forget my colleagues who have been also good friends to me.

Thank you everyone.
