I Have Started My Fitness Plan

That’s it. I finally got the finances and determination to enroll myself into a fitness centre. Ever since I started working, I wanted to do it, but 2 factors have been preventing me to do it. One is of course the inconvenience for me to get to any fitness center in Klang (not to mention the lack of choices unlike in KL or PJ).

The next was my biggest concern: the cost. My first job only earned me a pittance (no disrespect, but they paid me lesser than what the average fresh graduate programmer should get, and they first offered me peanuts before they finally gave me a bit more than that). I could not afford a year’s worth of membership fees with all my bills and loans to pay. But now, with my huge salary increase (nyehehehehe) with my new job, I finally can afford it.

And so it became that I was considering 2 fitness centres here in Klang. The first was Fitness First, in the newly opened Jusco mall at Bukit Tinggi. The next was Y Fitness, in Centro, right off the Federal Highway near Berkeley. So I went to both places to check them out and what’s the verdict?!

Jeng jeng jeng!!!

It’s Y Fitness. Why??? (pun intended) For a few reasons. Firstly, it cheaper!!! I got me a 1 year membership plan, which offers an extra 6 months FREE. So it’s 18 months for a lump sum price of RM 1788. Ok laaaa… Can sacrifice for wanting good health. Thus, it comes to lesser than RM 100 per month. To me, it sounds like a good deal. Another reason was that it lies in the middle of my way back home. I work in Section 13, Shah Alam, and it will just take me around 30 mins to get there via Padang Jawa (sans the RM 1 toll fee). The next reason is that my colleague also works out there, and he’s quite supportive of my effort. And I can always have company there too.

So today’s gonna be my first day there. Work ends at 5, will be there around 5.30 - 5.45. I will be starting out slow, due to the fact that my flabby ass hasn’t had any real work done for about a year. But I hope that in 10 weeks, I should have increased my cardio fitness level for me to try out new stuff there. I’m quite excited about the cycling classes and ***whisper*** dance classes. Mind you, I once had performed in a group dance in uni before, and even helped out a little with the choreography of another show. My Hips Don’t Lie. ***snort***

Anyways, wish me luck folks. And if anyone has any tips for beginner’s workout sessions, please feel free to point me in the right direction. I appreciate any sort of help from you guys.
