Why I Made The Parody Video

First of all, let me thank the members of the Malaysian blogosphere for the outstanding reception of the parody video. From being a relatively unknown blog with less than 100 visits a day, you guys have actually made 4800++ views (at time of writing) on one single post! That kind of statistic has never even been in my wildest dream. I’m glad you guys liked it, in fact I have yet to receive one comment that says they didn’t.

Furthermore, I am deeply touched with some of your concerns regarding my safety, especially with the “I-Simply-Arrest” factor which is weighing heavily on our fellow bloggers. I would be a liar if I said that I am not affected by the thought of getting arrested for the “crime” of “being comical while a nation is in a state of seriousness”. But hey, that’s just me.

I made the video to mark 916. For me, it is not about what was promised to happen on that day. It is about marking the beginning of a new era, irrespective of who will govern us in the days or weeks to come. I was simply doing my part in wanting change, even if it means that I gotta do it in a parody. That’s my style. It might not be the same as hard hitting articles or in-depth analytical reports by the countless respected bloggers we have in our country, but I just wanted to be a part of the bigger picture.

I would like to thank the many bloggers who linked to this site and the Youtube video, gave their comments and also spread the video around. Heck, they are quite a sum, and I apologize if I can’t name everyone and provide links to your sites. But rest assured that I am glad to acknowledge your direct/indirect contributions.

I’ll make more parodies, but you gotta gimme time to recharge my brains eh? Plus nothing stupid (I mean REALLY stupid) has happenned this week, even if there were some absurd events that took place.
