How A Minister Should Be Interviewed
To be clear, this time it ain’t a parody. But it still lingers around politics. I made subs for another video, but it is a far cry from a parody. This video features a TV reporter interviewing a politician, or Chief Minister to be precise. It shows how the CM shifts around with his explanations and tries to get himself out of the heat by turning the table onto the reporter.
The video originated from the Tamil movie Muthalvan, which is why I took the trouble to make the subs. Before you watch the video, let me give a brief description of the backstory.
A riot breaks out in Tamil Nadu, with bus drivers staging a lockdown. The CM doesn’t take any action to preserve his personal interests, and he orders the Police Commissioner to do nothing, hoping that the situation will calm down by itself. His orders were caught on tape by a cameraman, who then gets promoted to a reporter. His first assignment is to interview the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and therein starts the video clip below.

Why this video? Well, isn’t it obvious that this is how our current ministers should be interviewed? Instead of making the interview a sugar-coated publicity stunt? In India it was a caste issue. Here, it’s the racial issue. Watch the video, and you’ll notice more similarities about our country shown in a bloody movie! I’m sure if ONE bloody interview is conducted this way LOCALLY and put on LOCAL television, that’ll be then end of that minister. First of all, would our local TV reporters dare take up such an interview?
PS: There are some very minor spelling and grammatical errors in the subs. Apologies.
