Music From Many Years Back
Time for some light stuff after the massive hype of the parody video. Haha, I didn’t expect that much of hype. I even had a schoolboy put up my video on his blog. He called it vulgar. Anyone here knows what the fuck does that fucking word mean? Vulgar? (**snorts**). And he’s surprised why has it not been deleted yet since it “has lots of sensitive issues”. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
Neways, I have a list of songs that are quite interesting in that they are actually called oldies, but still are very much favoured today. These songs were listed in Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. I”ve only downloaded listened to 200 songs now, so that leaves another 300 to go.
Let’s see how many of these songs do you recognise. And try to download listen to them if you don’t recognise them. I guarantee you’ll love all of them.
Aretha Franklin - Respect
Superb song. Very much played in movies from the 90s. And come on, it’s Aretha Franklin!
Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode
You might recognise this song from the movie Back To The Future. Michael J. Fox tears up the guitar in that movie. Chuck’s version is the original, and very retro, AND engaging!
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
I play this song EVERYDAY. Listen to it, and you’ll know why. The lyrics are simply captivating.
The Eagles - Hotel California
Come on! Do I need to explain more?
Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five - The Message
What you have here is good rap lyrics during rap’s early years, coupled with crazy stuff from the synthesizer. “Don’t Push Me Coz I’m Close To The Edge!”
The Kingsmen - Louie Louie
This is THE song for beach parties. At least for me.
Little Richard - Long Tall Sally
If ever they play this song in a party, just go grab your date and go dance your legs off. Come on now, Little Richard will kick the Backstreet Boys any day, any time!
Buffalo Springfield - For What It’s Worth
Just play this song. Perfect to lie down on your lazy chair, and relax with your scotch.
James Brown - Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag
He ain’t the Godfather of Soul for nothing. You think Michael Jackson can dance? James Brown can beat his ass with a beer gut!
The Temptations - My Girl
You guys wanna serenade your girl? Sing this song and watch her smile and melt.
Isley Brothers - Shout (Parts 1 And 2)
Perfect song for big gatherings. Let’s the crowd join in with simple chants on the background. You might remember this song from the wedding montage from the movie The Wedding Crashers.
AC/DC - Back In Black
Rock is never dead, dudes! You like rocking the old way?! This song was featured on the Iron Man trailer.
Bob Dylan - Knockin On Heavens Door
It just moves you even more than the GnR version. Why? Coz he did it first!
So, when you gonna go download listen to them?
