Here’s a little history of how I got started. While in uni, and when Friendster was the rage all around, I was posting up some thoughts of mine in the Friendster blogs and also the bulletin board. By and by, these posts got numerous and the response I got from my friends were very much encouraging. Well, everything was randomly posted in the bulletin board at first, and then I slowly progressed to the blogs. My posts were mostly in the style of parodies and spoofs, and it reflected my humorous thoughts and sarcastic opinions well.

Have you ever paid RM 12 dollars for a cup of luxury coffee? I know you have. And it’s from just some side walk place isn’t it? I know the coffee tasted alright but… RM 12?? Hmmm… Just because “it’s fucking cool I can afford a coffee that is RM 12???” So, here my story begins.
One fine day, one man named Ah Chong walks into this side walk coffee place and realises something. “What the fuck?!”, he exclaims. “It’s RM 12 for a cup of coffee nowadays and everybody is drinking it with all smiles and laughter. This place is always bloody packed! People can afford this, so why the hell should I charge RM1 for mine? It’s the same bloody coffee. Well, maybe I’ll just try it out. I’ll charge half the price and see what happens.”.
And so, the next day, this Ah Chong opens his shop, throw in a little fancy design, throws in a spoonful more sugar, gives his coffee some fancy name, mounts 2 units of air-conditioners, and then the next thing you know, Ah Chong’s coffee shop sell’s his new fancy Kopi Kapitan at RM 6! You would think its ridiculous. But, Ah Chong ends up buying his new Bee-Em-Dabeliu and starts flashing it in front of his friend Tajudin who owns a nasi kandar place.

When you’re working as a Programmer cum Computer Technician in a large organization, you are bound to meet plenty of idiots and assholes around. I too had the enormous privilege of dealing with such people.
IT illiteracy is something very common today. At most, a person should at least be knowledgable in how to write a document in Microsoft Word, print the said document. Most people know how connect to the Internet, and use the Internet to either search for information, update the Friendster and/or Facebook, and surf the occasion porn site once in a while. So, sometimes, it bewilders you to an extent that you can’t even comprehend the idiocracy and ignoramus attitudes of some people when concerning a computer.
There was this new Department Manager hired in my place, and he prided himself in managing everyone is a very efficient and effective way. Let’s call him DM. I won’t say what department is DM heading, but let’s just say it’s a quite important department in my line of work. Though this department doesn’t need much use of the computer to run things, a computer beside you is never a bad thing. Especially when ur a manager.

Of all the things that annoy me, I’d say one thing stands out amongst the other. By hobby, education and profession, I have acquired quite a bit of knowledge in the field of Information Technology. This includes its subsets such as computer peripherals, web-based programming, online piracy, and so on and so forth. So it really, really bugs me when I hear people advising me on what to do when faced with computing problems.
Do we go tell doctors and pharmacists what medication to take when they have the sniffles? It is they who give us the tips and tricks, so to speak. You wouldn’t wanna look like a complete idiot when you try to act smart and prescribe Piriton for a backache, do you? Sure you don’t. But why do people insist on trying to show that they’re so computer savvy, when they can’t even differentiate a DVD and a VCD?

Well, ever since Putera MIC started blogging and also went around blog hopping, they’d been posting in most Malaysian Indian bloggers’ shoutboxes to redirect traffic. Good strategy, perhaps. But the fact remains that their method of communicating with the masses does have limited capabilities, and there are a few problems which need to be addressed soon. Let me highlight them for you guys. Don’t mistake my intentions as being supportive to Putera MIC. I am committed to remain apolitical for the time being. This is an effort to promote better communication methods between Putera MIC and their targeted audience, mainly Malaysian Indian youths.

Oh well… This is another big joke we have here. Take a look at this excerpt from NST.
“On a related issue, Kamalanathan issued a press statement calling on the government to ensure that eight per cent of places in all higher education institutions are allocated to Malaysian Indians.” - Source
Ok, I know that I’m a bit too late to highlight this. Maybe highlight is the wrong word. Whatever. My grouses are not with the main article which you can read from the source link above. We all know how the PSD scholarships are awarded, so I need not waste your time with such rantings. What I DO want to highlight lies in that excerpt above.
8% of places. A measly 8% allocation to a specific race. This is education, goddamnit! The future of our brothers, sisters, and children. WHY OH WHY does it have to be confined to a meagre 8%?

It’s been very long since I wrote political articles. Maybe even articles of social importance. I just considered that phase to have been dormant in me for some time, though I always knew when there was something that was worth giving my two cents, I’d be doing it. Here’s one. It concerns the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). Or more accurately, the youth wing of MIC which is Putera MIC.
Now, Putera MIC’s been pushing for Malaysian Indian youths to join MIC. Quoting one of the posts in the Putera MIC blog: “The MIC will embark on a major exercise to rope in more professionals and youths to run branches in a bid to regain the Indians’ trust and confidence in the party and Barisan Nasional (BN)”. Yesterday saw them putting up a new article on why should youths be joining MIC.
There have been a few answers to that questionby some bloggers. I’d rather you go read these articles by WantedGal and Madhavan to find out what exactly do they think about this. I found that their arguments are pretty solid.
To me, I find their views mostly racist. Indian this, Indian that. Yes, you are “supposed” to represent the Indians, but at what cost? Alienating Malaysian Indians from the other races? Why the race card in the first place, I ask you? Well, leave that question be. I have much more interesting stuff to ask you guys at Putera MIC’s helm.

What a nail biting match it was! And I was actually biting my nails off one by one along the whole build-up to one of the greatest UEFA Champions League Final matches that was ever played on European soil. Manchester United vs Chelsea 2008 will go down in the annals of history as one of the most intriguing matches ever played in a European cup final, alongside the miracle in Istanbul by Liverpool in 2005 and the last gasp goals in Barcelona by Manchester United (again) in 1999.
The penalty shootout video is below….
Drama! Thrills! Excitement!
